Sure, if they want to go to jail. http://www.infoniac.com/offbeat-news/parents-who-refused-medical-treatment-for-their-sick-baby-arrested-baby-seized.html

yes you are the parent and you have the right to refuse cancer treatment for your child if you are still unsure the hospital or cancer center has a patient advocate inside the facility and you can discuss it further with them.

Yes, legally they can. But what type of parent would do that. I mean it is a very hard thing to go through as a parent and as a child, but refusing treatment for the child would make the parents look like total ass holes in from of friends and family if they let their child die. Just my point on the topic. Disclaimer: This is not a diagnosis or medical examination. I am not a doctor but I am studying Pharmacology And Toxicology. Hope This Helps! In some countries - unfortunately yes. Today many childhood cancers are curable through conventional medicine. This is sadly not the case for alternative treatments, and it is mostly the false promises of the alternatives that make some parents refuse modern cancer treatment for their children. I refused a prescription for my child and the doctor called the dept. of children and families on me. It was not a life saving prescription either. The dept. just said that they could not force me to give it to my child, but it still gets them involved in your life. Just FYI...

Yess! That parent can refuse Cancer Treatment, but why would a person do such thing. I would get all the treatment for my child or any other relative. I believe no child or anyone should suffer from no type of sickness. Cancer is very serious it's no joke too be playing with.

You could, but it could actually be charged as neglect.

You can not refuse medical treatment on a child. The state will intervene and take over custody, It happened this week in the news. A couples 8 year old son wanted his parents to take him to Doctor, and they did not. He died of pnuemonia secondary to hodgkins lymphoma. (very treatable) come to find out they paid 80 dollars to have there pit bull de fleed. Go figure. They are being charged with neglect and more. They should be hung.
