Is it dangerous for a person with cancer to travel by airplane when they've been on treatment?
My father has NON-HODGKINS and he currently has a linfoma in his pelvis (right side) and he was previously hospitalized for about 4 to 5 months due to a bad side effect on the quimo treatment. His veins got so swollen they ended up in ulcers. It seemed like he had burned with hot water. He had to have a skin trasplant for both legs. Right now he can barely walk because his leg gets swollen and I don't know if the hight/altitud can affect him.

not really , no

His doctor would be the person who can tell you if he should travel. Get your father's permission to talk to his doctor so you'll be better informed.

If he is still on chemo therapy probably not advisable due to catching cold, viruses and other diseases. With chemo your immune system gets really weak, so ask the doctor first.

Just cause you have cancer or getting treatment for it doesn't prevent travel - both my parents flew at different stages of travel during treatment. THAT said - you say that your father has had some swelling in views (i assume legs) which might be a problem re flights (especially if over a long time frame) BUT the best person for your father to get advice would be his DR/Specialist - he would be able to give a better idea of time frame etc for travel etc.. Also - yes immune system is lowered - so he would ahve to watch for that as well.. good luck
