Does anyone know anything about the VA paying for cancer treatment at any facility other than the VA hospital?
I have been told that the Veterans Administration and American Cancer Society will pay for cancer treatment at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Chicago, IL. However, I cannot find any information on their websites. Does anyone know if this is true and if so where I can find the information. FYI.....if you have NOT had experience with the Dallas VA then you don't know what it is like so no flip answers please!

The American Cancer Society does not pay for treatment at all. I donĂ¢€™t believe the VA would either unless it is something they are not able to provide in which case they probably have a contract with other facilities for those things. You can call them and ask and I am sure the Cancer Treatment Centers of America would know, as they will need authorization before they treat the person.

This sounds like it would be a bit like Burger King paying for you to eat at McDonalds... I cannot imagine why it would be true... which may explain why you can't find any information about it! You could CALL the VA and ask, you know! (You may be thinking about the National Cancer Institutes treatment trials program in association with the VA? Check that out here: http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/NCI/VA-clinical-trials )
