To sin? it's 2010, what century are you living in? Fair enough if you disagree with stem cell research on a moral level, but sin? come on.

I understand what you are trying to say. You are worried about Embryonic stem cell research where they harvest embryos for stem cells. I don't like that either. What you can do is find a group that are harvesting umbilical stem cells, or adult stem cells and donate to that group. Stay true to your beliefs!

Yes cancer treatments have and will continue to include stem cells as part of new ideas in how to combat this devastating disease. There are elements of fundamentalist Christian sects who will continue to oppose all research that makes use of discoveries in stem cells, including cancer treatments. Unfortunately these same hypocrites will be treated with drugs born from the same stem cell research they oppose once they are diagnosed with cancer. But let me switch gears here and caution you against knee-jerk reactions based on the attempts to control you by members of the Church. You are free to make your own decisions about where you want to do good in the world. We are put here not to satisfy the urges of the Church leadership but to spread love and kindness and life in the world. So consider whether it is more noble, a more faithful adherence to the teachings of the Christian Bible, to help in the fight against pain and sickness and despair and sadness instead of helping certain men advance their political agendas. It's your decision and the choices are clear.

"Sinful" stem cell research is the reason I'm alive. You better look me in the eye and tell me I don't deserve to live before you oppose all sources of stem cells in all forms of research.

Everyone has stem cells in their blood . . and stem cell transplants have been around for at least 20 years or more. You are confusing the controversy over embryonic stem cells and stem cell treatments . . why would it be a sin to save children with cancer who need stem cell transplants. Perhaps you need to educate yourself about who benefits from stem cell treatments . . its mostly children. and on top of all that not all stem cell research is done with embryonic cells, they are doing amazing research with adult stem cells, which is produced from your bone marrow from the moment you are born.. and how is saving lives a sin again????
