Not radiation treatment, chemotherapy. Radiation treatment is focussed on the actual area of the cancer but chemotherapy puts drugs in the blood that go throughout the entire body. They attack any fast-growing cells. The fastest -normal- cells in the human body are the lining of the stomach and hair follicles, so chemotherapy tends to produce a lot of nausea and vomiting and also baldness. It takes a few weeks to recover, and then your hair grows out again and your stomach is fine too.

In the case of external radiation treatment (the most common type) it only makes you loose the hair in the area being irradiated. Chemotherapy, depending on the drugs used, can cause total hair loss.
