Let us make a trade. I want to make a spiritual agreement with you. Let somehow your cancer pass to me. Let you be healed and me take on your illness. Sound good?

Yes, considering most Christians get treatment. My friend, who is a devout Christian, has lung cancer and has been getting treatment for a year. By some miracle, she is still alive. Jesus would want you to get treatment. Refusing treatment which would help you is asking for suicide and trouble. Jesus can work miracles only if you take action (more than just praying). Jesus helps those who help themselves.

it would be stupid, not suicide. suicide is only when you want to die, and you inflict death on yourself.

I'm a Christian too have cancer in my liver and bowel=I have had 2 surgeries on the bowel and said this is enough=I have chosen to let the Lord take me home when it is time for me to go ,rather then fill some Dr.s pocket=I don't consider it suicide either=just a choice in how I want to be treated

i agree with what she said, Jesus loves you but he cant help you unless you help yourself!

no, it is not considered suicide. it is called your faith. you have the faith that God will heal you, and he does heal people all day everyday. but he also makes the medicine available to fight against these diseases. you just have to search your heart and seek his voice. he will tell you what to do. sometimes he doesnt want us to take the meds because he wants the world to see that it was a miracle that we were healed and that it had to be Him, and that He is real, so that they will inturn go to Him for salvation. i am so sorry for your diagnosis , and i will be praying for you :)

If it can be treated and cured I would say that , in a way, it is suicide. If the treatment only extends the length of the illness, possibly without any positive effect on continuance of life, and not cure it, I may, as a Christian choose not to accept treatment. Either way, I believe whatever the Christian's choice is, it would not matter in God's eyes if you are truly a Believer. It is a decision to make as to what you think in your heart is the right thing for you and your loved ones at the time.

By Jesus stripes we are heal, having faith that strong is what we all should have, but remember that Our Father created Doctors to help with the healing, I think you should pray and ask God to direct you to the right doctor and he will take care of the rest. I pray for your healing in the name of Jesus.

Of course it is...Don't be very much superstitious, when it is the matter of your health.Always remember that God helps only them who first give efforts to help themselves,if you do nothing for yourself even God cannot help you.

It isnt considered suicide by no means but why would u want to suffer when there are healing alternatives. i hope u are for real cause if u are not then i would be asking our loving god for forgiveness...

No it's not suicide in the usual sense. God works through all sort of mechanisms. I believe that God has inspired Doctors and Medical researchers to look for medicines and treatment modalities,to lessen the suffering of his children. To participate in chemotherapy & surgery is your choice, but in doing so you may be able to stay alive for your family & loved ones. You must take their feeling into account,it would be very unfair if you didn't.Are you afraid of the side effects of "chemo" and other treatments? Patients are coping with those awful side effects better, due to new drug protocols.Much "chemo" is given as an out-patient basis. Your MD can help with those choices. You could also contribute to cancer research if you participated, that would be a legacy to be proud of,thats how all success is measured. Why don't you do some research and find out what options are availible to you,and then descide. Remember God has given you a precious gift called "life". I believe we all should keep that sacred, and not waste it for any reason. Have you spoken to your minister or priest? They would have a better insight dealing with matters of this nature.I hope you find strength and courage in whatever you descide. Take care. SW FNP

Putting faith in God for healing doesn't mean you can't get treatment. Sometimes God heals through all kinds of means. Don't be afraid this means your not trusting God. Don't let any kind of doubt in that He is going to heal you. Speak his words on healing back to him. Claim them for your healing. God Bless

I am a Christain and an oncology nurse. I definately dont think it is suicide if you dont want chemo. What God does want is for you to pray and treat yout body like a temple.

No. I dont think it s suicide to refruse treatment. Instead you are trying to live out the rest of your life as normal as possible. I would have to way he chances of a cure vs just the chance of prolonging life and by how far. This is a personal decision that you should make on your oen based what is right for you. Ive been going throught treatments for the last 2 years, and if this one doesnt work, I am throwing the hat in. Most people wouldnt agree with me on this, but onther decision I have made is that if my cancer becaomes to consuming and too painful, I will kill myself. I would wait til the end where there was absolutly no hope and I was on my death bed anyways. But when I die I would like to di peacefully.

No -- letting nature take it's course, if that is your personal choice, is definitely not suicide in my book. I have known several people who have died after chem/radiation that made their last days on earth even more miserable. They all said, that given the chance to redo it, they would choose not to have gone through all that hell. If the cancer type is well-known to be highly responsive and curable by chemo, then I would personally opt for it. If it had a poor prognosis despite all known therapies --- I would probably choose to just let the disease progress and try to die with dignity.

If you're at peace with that, you can be sure you're ok. If you don't feel it's right in your spirit and you can't get peace after you have spent time in prayer, then you probably need to seek treatment. God bless you and keep you in His presence forever and ever. We'll see you there!

I can honestly say that no it is not suicide. I myself am a 3 time cancer patient and it was my choice not to do therapy. I'm not saying that you should or should not but I know that I had gone through therapy before and it did not do well with my body so when I relapsed I decided not to try again but I made sure that my faith was strong and that I took care of myself. This is not a fact from any sources. But it is indeed a fact of mine.

Did not God make the science to help in treating all the sick people? Did God not give the knowledge available and make it so that medicines are being able to be found by researchers? You can choose nothing and maybe die, but do you think this is what God has in his plans for you? Would he not ask you "my child I have given you resources on Earth to help you live longer and you choose to ingnore those" why? Only you in your walk with God can answer your own questions, I cannot just as I cannot be prepared to face God for you choices only you. But I can tell you if you have been DX with Cancer you should seek treatment. Its there for a reason and you dont think man did that alone do you? God has a purpose for all things and that includes medicines to help the sick.
