I assume you mean hormone therapy (like tamoxifen), not replacement therapy (like estrogen), which is used for those going through menopause. Hormone therapy is a standard treatment of metastatic breast cancer, which is not generally curable, so in this case it is palliative, though patients can live many years with this therapy (I got some > 10 yrs out). For women with early stage breast caner, if they have ER+ or PR+ disease, they are offered hormone therapy after the surgery. In this case they take it for a limited time, and it is given to eradicate any remaining cancer cells after surgery. It is curative therapy in this case. Blessings
