Is it ethical to ask for money for cancer treatment when you dont need the money?
Ok, so a girl at my school had cancer last year and there was several fundraisers to help pay for her treatments and i felt bad for her so i gave money for the treatment. She came back to school this year and the cancer is apparently gone but she is driving a shiny new 2011 mustang. So my answer seems pretty straight forward to me but apparently not to everyone. How can someone ask for help and say they are in need and then come back with a brand new sports car? And isnt this like when people fake a disease for money so isnt that illegal?

To answer your first question, no I don't think it's ethical. But you don't know, or at least didn't say, how she got the new car. It may have been an outright gift from a stranger that heard about her cancer, etc. Please don't judge her and her family's needs based on the car. Try and be happy for her that her cancer is in remission. Yes, there are situations of fraud out there but you seem to believe she actually did have cancer. Its treatments are very expensive and chances are she still has to take some form of medication. Some health plans cover it while others don't. Without more info on the entire situation, you should simply be glad she has beaten the cancer, for now.
