is lack of knowledge of treatment the main reason for not getting good care for lower class cancer patients?
is it lack of knowledge of treatment options? no coverage? thinking they shouldn't have it because depression and distress is normal?

Knowledge plays a role in it, but most of it is money.

Ok Stop right there. NO ONE IS LOWER CLASS !!! Just because you are having trouble making ends meat or low income is harder but don't let it stop you from getting help. Lack of knowledge is frequently the biggest problem. There are clinics that will help at low cost. As to the knowledge issue check out the library for medical information on different cancer treatments. And there are new processes to treat cancer that will do it for no cost to the patient . And being a Ginnie pig is not so bad if you don't get help your chances are even lower. In 1977 I was a chemo therapy test patient my self and I'm still here. I went to school and became a nurse so I could help others. So if I can do it so can others. But the computer on the internet is another way to learn more about cancer as well as who is doing new treatments. Just remember early detection is the key to survival.

I think your question is ill written and asked. You really should research the data on cancer patient survival rates based on economic status. Low income patients die far more often from Cancer then high income patients. Not do to ignorance or complacency but rather the newer treatment options are far more expensive. So even most of the free clinics wont have them as options.
