Does this seem like a right cancer treatment?
My aunt has breast cancer and has been told the treatment by her doctor but she's very forgetful and can't remember the exact treatment plan. We're trying to get in touch with her doctor to get the exact treatment so we can be more informed about it but we can't get hold of him. Does this seem like it could be a treatment and if not what might be different? Chemotherapy to shrink the tumour before surgery - MMM (methotrexate, mitoxantrone and mitomycin) 6 cycles to be taken every 3 weeks through an injection Conservative surgery to remove the lump (lumpectomy) Possibility of chemo after - FEC (fluorouracil, epirubicin and cyclophosphamide) 6 cycles to be taken every 3-4 weeks through an injection This what my aunt thinks it was (we found our what MMM and FEC stood for on the internet) but does it sound right? The after the surgery bit might actually be radiotherapy. We think she might have had a choice. Is that possible and which is better?

There are 200 different types of cancer. Everyone will have different treatments to suit their type of cancer. Sometimes they will operate first and then chemo followed by radiotherapy. Or shrink the tumor by giving chemo or radiotherapy first then operate. Check out some of the cancer websites or ring your local cancer helpline or oncology unit, they will advise.
